Frequently Asked Questions

CBD is one of 104 chemical compounds, known as cannabinoids, that can be found in the cannabis hemp plant. It’s a naturally occurring substance, which can be extracted and mixed with a carrier oil – hemp seed or coconut – to create CBD oil. Unlike the most well-known cannabinoid, tetrahydrocannabidiol (THC), CBD is not psychoactive, meaning that it won’t make you ‘high’, the sensation most commonly associated with cannabis.

When focusing on CBD products being legal in the UK, it’s important to consider the THC level contained within the CBD products. Currently, CBD oil in the UK can only have a maximum THC content of 0.2%. Any CBD oil with a higher THC content remains to be illegal and use is prohibited.

The good news is though...

All of CBD Hemps products stocked and sold have all THC content removed from them during the production and Co2 extraction stages, so there is not even the 0.2% level of THC within our products.

CBD oil is most readily available as a tincture. This can be taken by applying a few drops under your tongue, holding in your mouth for a minute or two so it can be absorbed, before swallowing. It can also be added to water or smoothies. A spray form is also available (simply spritz under your tongue), as are capsules, gummy bears, still water, creams that can be applied topically and e-liquid for vape pens. When it comes to dosage, we recommend that you should start with a small dose and gradually build up until you find the level that works for you, as every individuals body system is different.

CBD Hemp Oil is beneficial for the naturally occurring endocannabinoid system (ECS) in all peoples. The ECS is involved in regulating many functions. The ECS is controlled by 2 types of receptors called the CB1 and CB2 receptors. CB1 receptors are one of the most abundant receptors in the brain and are found in almost every nerve in a mammal’s body. CB2 receptors are found more exclusively in the immune system. Cannabidiol (CBD) and related cannabinoids found in the hemp plant are the only compounds in the natural world that work with these receptors.

We are not medical doctors here at CBD HEMP and therefore we advise all our customers to do their own independent research on CBD before and after trying our products and we always advise customers to contact their doctor if they have any queries about their physical or mental wellbeing.
